Be/Bi 205: Deep Learning for Biological Data
Caltech
As co-developer of Bi 205, I worked alongside Professor Van Valen to develop novel curriculum to capture the massive changes that have happened in the machine learning space. I specifically focused on distilling the key deep learning techniques and advancements into teachable modules, and then developing interactive lessons, contained within Jupyter Notebooks, covering topics ranging from single cell segmentation to cell tracking.
Bi 1: Principles of Biology
Caltech
As head TA I successfully coordinated the schedules and assignment of duties to junior TAs, while managing shifting time tables for the curriculum. By creating consistency and setting achievable goals for both students and TAs while managing the expectations of the instructors, we were able to create an engaging and productive learning environment for students, for which I was awarded an Undergraduate Teaching Award by the Caltech Student Committee for Biology Advancement.
Bi 122: Genetics
Caltech
I collaborated with a team of four teaching assistants to write homework assignments and exam material for an introductory genetics class for undergraduates.
Bi 8: Introduction to Molecular Biology
Caltech
I worked with a team of six graduate teaching assistants to write homework and exam material and hold weekly recitation sections to supplement lecture material for an introductory molecular biology course for undergraduates.
Bio 303: Developmental Biology Lab
Smith College
A developmental biology lab section utilizing zebrafish embryos and confocal imaging.
Deep Learning for Microscopy Image Analysis
Marine Biological Laboratory
A bootcamp to familiarize life science researchers with state-of-the-art deep learning techniques for microscopy image analysis.
